It also features a backlit display for nighttime viewing and a low battery display indicator. The thin probe tip make for easy measurement and it automatically powers on when probe is opened and shuts off when closed. Also, you can press the hold button to lock the temperature reading. You can calibrate the thermometer by inserting probe tip in know water temperature (ice water 32°F, boiling water 212°F).
